The PlayOut Yoga, Meditation, and Mindfulness Professional Development Program program gives teachers a wide variety of yoga techniques, meditation practices, and mindfulness exercises to use in PE class. These activities teach students how to eliminate stress and improve mental health.
Through the yoga techniques, students will learn to connect their breath with their body movements, promoting relaxation and improving strength, flexibility and balance. Through the meditation practices, students will learn to cope with stress and quiet their minds, giving them the tools to achieve self-discipline and self-mastery. Finally, through the mindfulness exercises, students will improve their focus and confidence in academic and social situations. In the PD, teachers will learn fun and easy-to-implement activities that make it simple for students to engage in these stress-reducing practices.
As part of the PD, teachers will receive PlayOut Yoga, Meditation, and Mindfulness Station Cards to streamline lesson planning and increase effectiveness of teaching.
